Vintage Turkish Kilim from central Anatolia, very pretty with lovely pastel, muted colours.
Woven in the mountains near the city of Kayseri in the early 1960s this is a really nice kilim in good condition.
It is generously decorated with tribal motifs, Main one being the two dragon patterns one in side the other one in the center of the rug. Dragon represents protection and it is the keeper of air and water. small animal figures represent the garden of eden which is being protected by the dragon. Also it has the family signatures added in. There are hundreds of symbols on this rug and you can even make your own interpretation from those symbols which can be a great talking point.
