This is a Turkish Kula Carpet, painstakingly hand knotted on wool foundations with 100% pure vegetable dyed wool.
These are made in south western Turkey on the mountains near Mugla.
It is a rare boutique rug thats made as a double sided rug, reverse is almost felted, presumably made to add warmth to the rug whilst on the floor.

Excellent condition with minimal wear for its age.
